Garage Sale – The garage sale was rescheduled for April 4, 2009 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. In case of inclement weather the sale will be moved to the gymnasium. The form for booth rental and notification flyers are now available. Completed applications and fees are due by Thursday, April 2, 2009. Media notification will take place the last week of March.
Assignments – Rebecca Heard – Flyers announcing garage sale to be distributed to students and staff Create application to be used for space rental Media notification (i.e. – television and radio) of garage sale Write an announcement for Ms. Ridley to read for staff donations and PTO support Draft letter to be distributed to community organizations for garage sale support Ms. Andrews Announce garage sale on the school marquee
Eighth Grade Activity Week – In honor of our graduating eighth graders the PTO will work with the staff and administration to develop an eighth grade activities week. Suggested activities include an eighth grade off campus picnic, interactions with past Ryan Middle School students (particularly the Class of 1958), and a dance.
Assignments – Rebecca Heard Obtain information from H & H Ranch including cost, date availability and deposit information.
APSPIRE Presentation – In effort to keep all school business transparent to both the parents and the community, Ruby Andrews presented the ASPIRE program. In her Power Point presentation, Ms. Andrews laid out the details of ASPIRE. ASPIRE is an acronym for Accelerating Student Progress Increasing Results and Expectations. Ms. Andrews explained teacher/staff bonuses, the progress of student test scores, and the effects of those scores on the school’s status.
