Garage Sale – The garage sale is currently scheduled for February 21, 2009 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. February 28, 2009 is the weather back up date. The form for booth rental and notification flyers will be completed by Friday, January 23rd. Media notification will take place the second week of February.
Assignments – Ms. Payton – Gibson – Flyers announcing garage sale to be distributed to students and staff Create application to be used for space rental Media notification (i.e. – television and radio) of garage sale Write an announcement for Ms. Ridley to read for staff donations and PTO support Ms. Heard Draft letter to be distributed to community organizations for garage sale support Ms. Andrews Announce garage sale on the school marquee
Sweetheart Dance – The Sweetheart Dance will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009. The time of the dance was amended to 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm to better accommodate the students and staff. The teachers and staff will be responsible for chaperoning the students and the HISD officer will be on hand for security. Tickets will cost $3.00 per child and will be sold from February 9 thru February 12. Administration will provide the PTO with a student rooster of students eligible to attend. At the time of ticket purchase, students will sign the rooster next to their name and the same students will receive a wrist band at the door. The National Junior Honor Society members will create and hang posters announcing and also participate in decorating the cafeteria for the upcoming dance. The NJHS will also read an announcement on February 5th and 6th notifying the students of up coming dance.

Vacated PTO Positions – After briefly reviewing the proposed Ryan Middle School Parent and Teacher Organization By-Laws, those present at the meeting decided to hold off temporarily on adopting the by-laws and filling vacated posts.
A short meeting will be held after the dance on February 13, 2009.
