Dear Parents,
The James D. Ryan Middle School Parent Teachers Organization (PTO) is looking forward to an exciting 2009-2010 school year. This is your year to get involved.
Why have a Membership in PTO?
· Membership gives you the perfect opportunity to become active in your child education. · It is a great way to meet other parents facing the same formidable task—raising children! · Keeps you up-to-date on school news through monthly meetings and the PTO communications. Ability to vote at PTO meetings.
The PTO usually meets every first Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in our school library. Our meeting usually ends by 7:30 pm and sometimes earlier. Save the following dates and join us for our monthly meetings: October 5, 2009 November 2, 2009 December 7, 2009 January 4, 2010 February 1, 2010 April 5, 2010 May 3, 2010 Goal:
The PTO’s big goal this year is to raise funds for books; yes, our new state of the arts library still has lots of blank shelves because we need more books. Since our new library opened last year, students have been checking out books, working on research projects, and etc. No only do we want students to have a variety of books available but also a library full of books.
