Ortiz Middle School Band
Ortiz Middle School Mighty Eagle Band!
These words mean different things to
different people.
To the band parents at Ortiz it means late
practices, fundraisers, field trips and a new sense of belonging for their
child. To the faculty, staff and students at Ortiz it means loud drums and
instruments marching down the halls, students carrying instruments in and out of
class rooms, new music at Ortiz functions and sporting events, and a new sense
of bonding and oneness from these band students. And to the band and Band
director at Ortiz it means pride, discipline, hard work, responsibility, working
together for a common goal, fun and above all a new love for music in every
form.
Establishing this atmosphere of music at Ortiz has not been an easy one for the
band. They have had to learn quickly what it means to work hard and concentrate
on a common goal. However, through months of classroom lecture, guided practice
and hands-on training, together the band has found their place at Ortiz.
Together they have started building the foundation of dedication, hard work,
pride and a love for music that will carry this program into the future. These
students want the world to know that they are………
