Dress Code
ORTIZ MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS FOR SUCCESS DRESS CODE Uniforms are required for all students at Ortiz Middle School. The uniform must fit the student properly, not to exceed one (1) size above the correct size. Baggy or sagging pants and oversized shirts must be tucked in completely around the waist at all times while on campus. A student may not be admitted into class if his/her uniform is out of compliance. If there is a difference of opinion as to the appropriateness of dress and groooming, the final determination will be the judgement of the campus administration. SHIRTS
PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS All bottoms should be khaki or navy blue cotton or polyester. Blue jeans are not permitted unless principal approval has been given. Shorts and skirts are to be knee-length. Shorter shorts or skirts are not permitted. A belt must be worn with all pants, shorts, and skirts if belt loops are present on the clothing. Large metal belts are NOT allowed (i.e. name plate belts). Pants must be worn at the waist, not on the hips or bottoms. SHOES Footwear must be worn at all times. Tennis shoes are the only shoes allowed. All tennis shoes must have laces to tie and must have a back to them. Tennis shoes must be solid black or white in color; all others are not permitted. Shoelaces must be black or white. Tennis shoes must be properly tied at all times. JACKETS/SWEATERS
