Lanier Middle School “An International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme School”

Dear Parents and Staff of Lanier,

We have had a great first week of school at Lanier.  The sixth graders benefitted from Pup Camps this summer and our 7^th & 8^th graders returned ready for school.

At Lanier we will have Open House on September 9^th & 10^th.  All sixth grade parents are invited to attend Open House on September 9^th.  The program will run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The schedule for the 6^th grade Open House is:    

                6:00              Welcome In Auditorium   

Last Name: A-L

                                      6:15-6:35    PE/DANCE

                                      6:40-6:55    Elective Teachers and Foreign Language Teachers

Last Name: M-Z

                                      6:15-6:35    Elective teachers and Foreign Language Teachers

                                      6:40-6:55    PE/DANCE

                                      6:55-7:00    Parents transition to the cluster teachers.

Cluster 6A will meet in the cafeteria at 7:00

Clusters B/C will follow schedules sent home with their students

Seventh and eighth grade parents are invited to attend Open House on September 10^th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The schedule for 7^th & 8^th grade Open House is:

                       6:00 – 6:15      Welcome In Auditorium

                        6:15 - 6:30       7^th to PE and 8^th to Electives and Foreign Language

                        6:30 – 6:45      7^th to Electives and Foreign Language and 8^th to PE

                        6:45 – 7:45       Cluster Meetings

                                   7A = Drama Room

                                   7B = Library     

                                   7C = Auditorium

                                   8A = Band Hall

                                   8B = Cafeteria

                                   8C = Gym

Lanier Middle School is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years School.  Over the course of the next two months we will offer informational meetings to help parents understand what it means to be an International Baccalaureate School.  We have scheduled 22 dates/times for these one hour informational meetings.  Each session provides the same information so please look at the schedule below and call 713-942-1900 (ext 316) to reserve your slot on the date/time that works for your schedule.  We are going to limit each session to 30 participants to allow for interactive questions and answers.  If we need more dates and times we will add more opportunities.  All presentations will take place in the library.  We will be serving refreshments at these meetings.
