Edison Middle School's Science Workshop
Helps Teach 8th Grade Science Objectives
with Hands-On Activities
April 2009
Andrea Hernandez, Site Director for the Science Workshop,
and her crew have made lengthy preparations to teach targeted science
objectives for our 8th graders who will be taking Science TAKS on April
30th. These objectives include hands-on activities in the following areas:
ecosystems, predator-prey, human impact, changes in system, erosion, plate
tectonics, interdependence in the human body, food chain and food web, and
shrinking habitat. This week the students became pseudo grasshoppers,
shrews, and hawks as they learned about the food chain.
Ms. Phillip's class gets information about the food chain and
predator/prey. |
They learn about hawks, shrews and grasshoppers. |
Mr. Dreier's classroom grasshoppers take off.
|
The shrews run after the grasshoppers. |
The hawks chase after the shrews.
