Jerry Johny graduated from T. H. Rogers’ L. I. F. E.
Skills program in 2005. As part of his
vocational training, he worked as a sacker at HEB grocery store on Fountainview
and Westheimer. Jerry enjoyed the work
and always did a great job. His
supervisors characterized him by saying he was a hard worker and always
pleasant. He had many friends among his coworkers,
so upon graduation he decided he would like to continue working at HEB. His favorite activity is collecting carts
from the parking lot. He enjoys greeting
the customers and helping them with their groceries.
When he is not at work, Jerry enjoys hanging
out with his family, riding his bicycle and interacting with his
neighbors. As a matter of fact, he is
known as the “neighborhood watch guard” who is always on alert for
people/things that don’t look right in the neighborhood. He is especially cherished by the elderly who
live in the neighborhood; for Jerry has made it top priority to pull their
garbage cans out to the curb, and return them to their spot after it has been
emptied. Jerry is truly a success story! |
