The registration process was almost painless. It was done via laptops, set up on site for this purpose. The line was for a badge and backpack.

Wednesday's keynote speaker was Erin Gruwell. Her students were labeled the Freedom Writers and published a book on which a movie was made.

The TCEA convention's theme was "Let the Journey Begin."

One of the classes I attended was on Dreamweaver, a website authoring tool.

Downtown Austin was beautiful in the afternoon winter light.

Waterfalls draped the background of a scenic garden area downtown.

I'm pointing to a celebrity signature on one of the decorated guitars which are sprinkled in various places downtown. The celebrity is Dennis Quaid.

Sgt. Paul Aleman of the TX Attorney General's office gave us information on internet safety.

I took a lesson on the TI Navigator, an interactive calculator, with Kristen SanJuan from Richardson ISD. It's COOL.

Ms. SanJuan sent us problems which we solved per her directions and then we sent her our solutions. The results displayed overhead.

I went to a session on claymation, with these figures, created by students, as examples.

The claymation presenters were Tara Cahill and Brenda Kraft of Rockwall ISD. They are instructional technology specialists.

The final keynote speaker was Steve Gilliland. He used humor to help us understand and embrace serious issues, such as being purpose driven at work.

Steve Gilliland was VERY funny.
