Dr. Abelardo Saavedra, Interim Superintendent of Schools, Visits Stevenson Middle School

The first thing they saw was the pond that was created last school year by the students.

Ms. Ray's class was in the garden working with plants during the visit.

The next stop was the Parent Center where a citizenship class was getting ready to begin.

Dr. Saavedra spoke to the parents in Spanish, welcoming them and introducing himself.

They observed the students learning math in Mr. Miller's classroom.

Next stop was Ms. Wells math class where the students were learning decimals.

In Mr. Hernandez' class, the students were taking a test. Dr. Saavedra asked the students what they were being tested on.

Ms. Magee's students explained components of the scientific method.

Next was Mr. VanTilburg's technology applications class.

Dr. Saavedra and Mr. Villarreal met Stevenson's Teacher of the Year, Ms. Milstead, and Mr. Pierce, as they were planning for their classes.

Ms. Tenney and Mr. Martisek were planning with Ms. Johnson-SE District Science Instructional Supervisor- when Dr. Saavedra and Mr. Villarreal arrived.

Mr. Gisler's students told him they were determining the boiling temperature of water and the effect of adding salt to the water.

Ms. DeLaRiva's Science class told Dr. Saavedra what they were learning.

Last stop was the computer lab in D115 where two classes were working on different objectives.

Mr. Pambello showed Dr. Saavedra and Mr. Villarreal the graduation profile which every teacher has up in the classroom.
