Improving Environmental Quality through Cooperation

Mothers for Clean Air is a local, non-profit organization concerned with air pollution in the Houston-Galveston area and particularly its effects on children's health. It serves as a collective voice to keep state and local government, industry, and consumes focused on obtaining and maintaining cleaner air for our children.

At this community meeting, representatives from Houston and Washington D.C. air quality organizations and EPA representatives from Dallas, TX were present to discuss our area air pollution concerns.

Before the meeting began, attendees were greeting each other and meeting the representatives from various organizations.

Ms. Magee and the Science Club were present at the meeting to find out all they could about our air quality.

Jonathan Hook said that, with the effort of this organization, the community and the partners will make a positive difference.

Lisa Hammond spoke about the CPS model in MfCA's grant. It's purpose is to increase residents' understanding of the risks of toxic air quality.

Jane Laping, MfCA project manager, said MfCA will be collecting air samples over a 3 year period.

Carlos Bustos, MfCA Community Organizer, invited attendees to become members of MfCA.
