My 6th grade English classes have just completed their character analysis project on the OUTSIDERS. They read the novel, viewed the movie, and then had to decide which character they liked the best. They had to pair up with a "class buddy" and trace each other's body outline onto a piece of white butcher paper. Once traced, they had to bring their outline to life by making it look like the character they liked best. The end results were awesome. Pony Boy and Cherry welcome you into my classroom while many of the other characters stand along the wall welcoming you to be an INSIDER into their OUTSIDER world! The students learned a valuable lesson in life about what being an "outsider" is like and how to be a friend to everybody!
