Eighth Grade Exit Interviews

This year Stevenson Middle School has implemented student learning portfolios and exit interviews for all of our 8th grade students. The portfolios have been implemented to increase our students' educational responsibility with accountability.
Each student is required to keep a learning portfolio, which is a collection of the student's schoolwork. The work that each student chooses to put in his or her portfolio is based on a list of each subject matter criteria. Every subject area is to be included in the portfolio.
Students may also select items to add to their portfolio throughout the year. Students reflect on their work and choose certain items to be included that shows examples of their best work. The culmination of this portfolio project is an 8th Grade "Exit Interview" in which students have an opportunity to discuss and share about their learning, including strengths and weaknesses as learners. The interviews, which students are now carefully preparing for, will take place with the student and two volunteer interviewers, including an educator and a community member.
The following pictures are the generous ladies and gentleman who gave their time and effort to interview our eighth grade students. The interviews were organized by Khalilah Campbell, 21st Century Coordinator and Graciela Ledesma, Title I Coordinator, with technical assistance by Carole Fitzgerald, Campus Educational Technologist.
