Our Hero

Donnell Kennedy, an 8th grade student at W.I. Stevenson Middle School, saved the life of a mail carrier while she was on her route.  She had been attacked by two dogs and Donnell saved her from that experience.  C. Michael Gaspard, the Houston Postmaster, and many other United States Postal Service personnel were here at Stevenson to present Donnell with a hero of the year award on January 8th, 2003. 

Donnell's parents, Kenneth and Deborah Kennedy and a variety of family members were at Stevenson to participate in the award ceremony.

Those of us here at Stevenson congratulate Donnell on his bravery. We are lucky to have him as one of our students.
