Dr. Franklin Chang-Diaz, astronaut, and Congressman Gene Green visited Stevenson Middle School on Monday, May 12.  Dr. Chang-Diaz was the first Hispanic astronaut to fly on a space shuttle.  The guests spoke to the students in Academy A and the 8th grade students in Academies C and D.  Both men emphasized the importance of a good education and Dr. Chang-Diaz discussed the NASA program.  He explained several aspects of the space program with a PowerPoint presentation.  It was an educational experience for all the students who attended.
