*** For your child’s safety HISD now requires all volunteers to register as VIPS and fill out a criminal background check. Sharon Burnett, Revere’s Volunteer Coordinator, is located in the main office during school hours this is where you should register and check in. Her office phone is 713-645-2904. We track the volunteer time by computer and grant money is awarded by HISD based on VIPS volunteer hours.

FREE DOUGHNUTS

By Joining the PTO for just $10.00

SPECIAL NOTE: Bring your family and have dinner with the Revere Family ... the PTO will sell Pizza starting at 5:30pm before Open House on Tuesday, September 16 .

By getting 95% of your Advisory Class plus your Advisory Teacher to join the PTO by Friday September 19th, you can earn FREE DOUGHNUTS for your Advisory Class on October 1st. What a great way to start the day!

If 100% of your Advisory Class joins, your Advisory Teacher will have to spray paint their hair, or wear a crazy hat for the entire day Oct 1st . Your advisory teacher will also earn a FREE gift certificate to Hair Spa, our business partner, for their choice of one of the following: a 30 minute massage, whirlpool pedicure, basic manicure, or a hair cut.

If 75% of the Entire School joins, each joining student will receive a PTO button, which entitles that student to privileges such as wearing jeans on days other than Friday, discounts on concessions at school functions, and other special privileges that you will get to suggest and vote on and more! Plus the Principal and Assistant Principals will have to perform a "special task" (still in the planning stages) for the entire day October 1st.

With your $10.00 PTO membership dues you will receive a FREE Student Directory. We will draw 3 names from each grade to win Revere Gear. We use PTO money to help pay for the Dances, New Spring Fling Carnival (in April, it’s going to be fun!), Homecoming Week, Carnations, Crush Cans, Student Appreciation (Report Card Treats), educational equipment, sports equipment, and it keeps the 8th Grade Dance FREE plus much, much more. We can’t do it with out your help! Please join the PTO.

Are you READY TO RIDE into a year of FUN Activities and a GREAT Education?

Then Revere Middle School is the place for you!

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Board has been hard at work over the summer planning events for the coming year with our wonderful New Principal, Mr. Estrella and Ms Reuters. Some of the events planned are Day and Evening Dances, Homecoming Week, Crush Cans Sales, Carnation Sales, and our exciting Spring Fling Carnival in April. We also have added to our Revere Gear line of products: 2 new school t-shirt designs, 1 rhinestone baby t-shirt, picture frames, scrapbooks, journals, etc…

PTO and Booster Club Membership Dues – Fill Out Enclosed Form

The Revere PTO receives proceeds from dues, sale of Revere Gear, and tickets sales to provide funding for our projects. These projects such as new equipment, educational aids, and departmental needs benefit the students, teachers, and Revere. The Revere Booster Club is an adult organization that supports Student Athletes, Cheerleaders, Dancers, and Pep Squad by attending school sponsored events, and volunteering time and / or money. The booster club pays for equipment, uniforms, awards, trophies, referees, entry fees, sponsoring banquets etc…

PTO Membership for the 2003-2004 School year will be $10.00 per family. This year with each paid Membership in the PTO you will receive 1 FREE Student Directory, a $6.00 value. If you join by September 16 your name will be placed in a drawing for a chance to win Revere Gear.

Booster Club Membership for the 2003-2004 School year will be $10.00 per family.

PTO/VIPS and Student Directory Forms - Fill Out Enclosed Form

Also enclosed is the VIPS / PTO Volunteer Form. We realize with work, family, and all of today’s responsibilities your spare time is precious. For this reason there are volunteer opportunities available during the day and evening. There are certain volunteer activities that will allow for family participation. By giving a few hours of their time volunteering this year we will accomplish great things for our children. Our Student Directory is important tool for keeping lines of communication open. If your business, any local business, or yourself would like to take out an ad in our student directory please fill out the directory advertising form. Also on this form there is a Dedication ad which is available to wish your child well in school, their sport, etc…

PTO BOARD MEETINGS

Revere PTO Board Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7 PM. The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 6, 2003 in the Revere Library. You are always welcome to attend these meetings. Please visit us on the Internet at http://ms.houstonisd.org/RevereMS/ for PTO news and meeting and event dates. Should you have any suggestions or comments for PTO there is a PTO box in the front office or see Sharon Burnett. Since, we restructured the Revere PTO over the summer, we are in need of Committee Chairs for upcoming easy events. Even if you have never volunteered at your child’s school before this is an great opportunity to become a part of their learning environment.
