Dear Jane Long Middle School Vanguard Parent:

 On behalf of the principal and staff at JLMS, I would like to welcome you to the 2005-2006 school year.  This year we are making some exciting changes within the Vanguard program.  The first change is that we are holding a separate Vanguard orientation on Tuesday, August 9, from 1-3pm in the auditorium.  This orientation is for all Vanguard students enrolled in 6^th, 7^th, or 8^th grade.

 Important information for the 2005-2006 school year will be given out during orientation, including the restructuring of grade levels to houses.  In addition, books and lockers will be assigned. 

 This year all JLMS students are required to wear either blue or white JLMS collared shirts.  These shirts will be available for purchase ($6.00).  Also, we will be selling special JLMS Vanguard collared shirts for $6.00.

 I am looking forward to working with you and your child this coming school year.

Estimados padres de Vanguardia de La Escuela Secundaria Long:

 En nombre de nuestra directora y personal docente en JLMS, me gustaría dar la bienvenida a ustedes al nuevo año escolar 2005-2006. Este año tendremos algunos emocionantes cambios dentro del programa de Vanguardia.  El primer cambio es que tendremos una orientación separada para los estudiantes de Vanguardia, el martes, 9 de agosto, de 1-3pm en el auditorio. Esta orientación es para todos los estudiantes de Vanguardia matriculados en el 6o, 7o, u 8o grado.

 Durante la orientación, ofreceremos información importante para el año escolar 2005-2006, incluyendo la reestructuración de niveles de grado a casas.  Adicionalmente, los libros y los guarda-libros serán asignados este día.

 Este año es requisito que todos los estudiantes en JLMS lleven puestas camisas JLMS azul o blanco con cuello. Estas estarán disponibles para la compra ($6.00 dólares c/u). También, estaremos vendiendo la camisa JLMS  especial para estudiantes de Vanguardia con cuello por $6.00, igualmente.

 Estoy muy emocionada de poder trabajar con ustedes y sus hijos este venidero año escolar 2005-2006.
