Members Present: :  D Williams, J Arnst, A Hoyt, A Dolphus, E Shephard, E Butler, S Newell, J Bailer, F Hill, P Conway, J Foreman, C Wilson, C Williams, K Bailey, S Williams, & D DeLaRosa

Old business:

  1. Minutes approved for 11/17/04

  2. Discussed Teacher Retention Survey for editing and final comments.  It was unanimously passed with corrections for years of teaching and uninterrupted conference time.

 New business:

  1.  F Hill requests new process for students to get electives.  There is concern that students get electives they want instead of electives to balance schedules.  Committee discussed possibilities for changing electives at semester end.

  2. S Newell requested attention be given to the problem of observation times for mentors and mentees.  It was suggested that substitutes be arranged and coordinated to relieve multiple teachers in one day.

 

Wheel Committee Reports:

Courtesy committee has 31 members to date, memory books have been purchased for staff that have lost loved ones, and birthday cards are being given to staff.

Professional Development:  Ms. S Williams reported that requisitions are being approved, the West Central District is coming to work with English and Math, and Staff Development Conference will be goal focus of Jan. 3 meeting.

Security Committee did not have report but did discuss emergency phones and lights in Village.

Technology reported that the new bdc server has been installed and this will be a server the students can access.  Some teachers may need to reconnect their printers.

 

Open Forum:

E. Shephard brought up concern for planning time, such as, one half day per 6 weeks.  A Hoyt noted this could also work for parent conferences.  D Sheppard is organizing a parent meeting committee.
