Arnst, Ada Dolphus, Diana DeLaRosa, Shannon Williams
Old Business:
- Reading of 2/16/05 minutes by J. Foreman, amended
to include attendance of S. Williams and approved 3/16/05
- D. Sheppard to send email and set up suggestion
boxes regarding teacher retention survey within 1 week.
New Business:
- Staff development plans were due 3/17/05 and De La
Rosa and S. Williams announced there would be no waiver days for
Thanksgiving year, 2005. This decision was due to lack of compliance
from staff regarding independent study option. Committee voted and a
poll was requested by A Hoyt. In favor of losing waiver days Arnst,
Bailer, Bailey, Conway, DeLaRosa, Dolphus, Newell, Hill, Hoyt, D
Sheppard, C. Williams, S Williams, & C Wilson. Opposed to losing waiver
days D Williams, E Shephard, J Foreman, & E Butler.
- D Williams requested that TAKS distribution return
to three separate locations to reduce teacher wait time for pick up and
return. DeLaRosa said it was not possible due to security of testing
materials and they would remain in library.
- E. Shephard requested a grace period of 5-10
minutes for teacher sign-in. DeLaRosa explained that is was not
possible due to administrative need to know which teachers were not on
campus.
Wheel Committee Reports:
Courtesy Committee: 42 members, $668, 3
plants to coworkers, Wed. pool event scheduled, suggestion to send Olinda
a card.
Plant Operations: no meeting but
drainage done by science building.
Professional Development:
Discussed under New Business
Security Committee: no report,
reminded to meet monthly
Technology Committee: no new
report
Open Forum: Arnst proposed no more selling
of junk food during lunch due to excessive garbage created by student
littering and poor nutritional value. A general consensus supported the
idea but there was no vote taken. Ms. DeLaRosa agreed to discontinue the
sales.
