The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB/MYP) offers students an international framework of academic challenge and life skills. The five-year programme serves as an excellent preparation for the Diploma Programme. Students in a Middle Years Programme complete years 1-3 in middle school; years 4-5 are completed during the freshman and sophomore years of high school. The overarching philosophy of the programme is to awaken the intelligence of our middle schoolers and teach them to recognize relationships between school subjects and the world outside school by combining knowledge, experience and critical observation. The student's intellectual and social development - educating the "whole child"- is the focus of the Middle Years Programme and is achieved by exploring themes that provide learning experiences around global awareness, international understanding and cultural diversity.
