Today we're going to extract DNA from a Strawberry.

DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid.

The four bases that make up DNA are Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine, & Thymine.

DNA is shaped like a double helix because the pairs of bases connect at an angle to form a spiraling ladder shape.

Strawberries are good for this experiment because they produce pectinases and celluases that are already breaking down the cell wall.
