William S. Holland Middle School, opened in 1979, is located in the neighborhood of Pleasantville, near the highly industrialized Ship Channel area (I-10 East and the 610 Loop East).

While emphasis is placed on cooperative learning in Cougarland, Holland also recognizes the individual, through Honor Roll Certificates, Perfect Attendance Awards, and the Student of the Month Citation.
