PTO
By-Laws were reviewed, amended and approved.
The updated by-laws are attached.
Designate
Roles and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities as
described in the by-laws were reviewed and accepted.
Mr. Kurtz was designated as the parliamentarian and
teacher representative.
Ms. Medrano will act as secretary until the newly
elected secretary, Maria Limon, is contacted and begins to
attend meetings. The
president will be responsible for creating agendas and
submitting them to the board members prior to board
meetings.
School
Directory
Ms. Floyd will work on compiling a
school directory to sell to students and teachers for $2.00.
It will be ready and on sale by October 31st.
Ms. Medrano will provide paper and copies.
Ms. Medrano will call parents and send a second
notice to allow them to remove their information from the
directory if they so choose.
Membership
Drive
All present board members paid their
dues on the spot. Michelle
Rosales agreed to contact Andrea Mendez to begin planning a
membership drive from October 15th to November 2nd,
at which time the advocacy class with the most members would
get a pizza party. Mr.
Kurtz agreed to try and recruit teacher members.
Travis Fall
Festival
Ms. Rosales and Ms. Floyd will run a
water bottle booth at the Travis Fall Festival from 10:00 to
3:00 to try and raise funds for the Hogg MS PTO.

The following dates were established
for 5:00 pm board meetings:

The following dates were established for 5:30 pm
general membership meetings:
October 30th

January 23rd

April 23rd
May 21st
It was decided that the Hogg MS PTO would host a
Spring Fling on April 12th.
Goals for
the 2007-2008 School Year
The following goals were set for the
current school year:
Purchase 5 additional cafeteria tables at $1,000 each.
Provide 6 teacher grants at $100 each.
Host a Spring Fling.
Provide a teacher appreciation
luncheon.
Provide speakers of interest to parents
for the PTO meetings.
