(Ret) James W. Smith, a native Floridian, started his military
career after completion of
high school in June 1978. His education also includes a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Human
Resource Management.
1SG Smith retired from the U.S. Army on 31 March 2000 after serving for 22
years. His
assignments include: Fort Jackson S.C.; Frankfurt, Germany; Dallas,
Texas; Hunter Army
Airfield Savannah, GA; Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Houston, Texas.
His awards include: 3
Meritorious Service Medals; 2 Army Commendation Medals; 8 Army
Achievement Medals; 7 Good Conduct Medals; Advance Leadership Ribbons; The
Recruiter
Badge & Ring; and several other ribbons and medals.
1SG Smith started
teaching ROTC at Waltrip High School in January 2000, and has been a
part of
the Hogg family since 29 March 2004.
1SG Smith and his wife
