Describe Current Status of the School Related to the Indicator

90% of the faculty will be involved in a project by December 2000. They will have a choice of either:
  1. Choosing a project from the Exchange or
  2. Creating their own with the guidance of the Co-nect training, facilitator and site director support, and cross-discipline collaboration.
  1. Only some of the teachers use project-based learning.
  2. Teacher-centered classrooms.
  3. Projects are not a major part of the curriculum.
  4. Low interest and lack of training.
  5. Perception that project-based learning doesn’t address basic skills.

What key changes will occur as a result of meeting this indicator? (How will you know that meeting this indicator has made a difference?)

  • There will be more student-centered learning.
  • There will be more students working together.
  • There will be more teachers working together.
  • There will be more interdisciplinary connections.

Who has primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the indicator? K. Givens and W.T. Johnson

What is the timeline for implementation? (When will data be collected? When is implementation progress to be reviewed? What are expectations after 2 months, 4 months, etc.) Set up a calendar for reviewing and reporting findings.

  • Project plans and project participation evidence will be turned into K. Givens, W.T. Johnson, or any other Design Team member.
  • Inservice sign-in sheets

Conduct a mini public relations campaign.
Do what we are asking others to do.
Aid in acquiring materials.
Facilitate teacher projects.
Ask Curriculum Committee to encourage Dept/Teams.
What Is the responsibility of the teaching clusters/teams? (What will they do to see that the Indicator Is Implemented?)
Showcase projects to encourage more participation.
Depts/Teams encourage participation.
Show sample projects for teachers that need help.
Support individual teachers or work as a group to design projects.
What Is the responsibility of the Individual teacher? (What will each teacher do to ensure the Implementation of the Indicator?)
Attend the Co-nect inservices on Identifying Quality Projects and Backplanning.
Ask for help, if needed, to start your own project or to use a Co-nect project.
