Describe Current Status of the School Related to Indicator

Hamilton will host four events unrelated to student performance. There will be an event for each grade level and one for Cinco de Mayo.
Increase communication between the community, parents, and school.
We have very limited parental involvement.
Our parents do not take accountability seriously until the end of the year.
There is low outside/community knowledge of Hamilton.
We have a lack of community involvement.

What key changes will occur as a result of meeting this indicator? (How will you know that meeting this indicator has made a difference?)

People will see Hamilton as a community center.
We will have more parental support and involvement.
We will see more of the community within the school.
We will involve and improve cooperation between faculty, staff, parents, and community.
We will increase communication with community, parents, and the school.

Who has primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the indicator? J. Blanchard and D. Thomas

What is the timeline for implementation? (When will data be collected? When is implementation progress to be reviewed? What are expectations after 2 months, 4 months, etc.) Set up a calendar for reviewing and reporting findings.

What data are you going to collect? When and what are you going to do with it? (Build collection time into calendar.)
Video footage, sign-in sheets, Hamilton Newspaper reports, and Leader articles.
What is the responsibility of the Design Team ? (What will the Design Team do to ensure the implementation of the indicator?)
Create a committee to find funds/resources/business partners to underwrite the events and integrate community volunteers. Create a public relations calendar. Share goals with the staff.
Help teachers with time and resources.
Create a friendly competition. Create an Action Team to look at increasing communication with the community, parents, and school.
What Is the responsibility of the teaching clusters/teams? (What will they do to see that the Indicator Is Implemented?)

Come up with a plan to host their team’s parents on one of the 4 events. Define evening concept for the event.
Encourage attendance. Strategize how we can get a high number of parents to attend.
Be creative with their participation.

What Is the responsibility of the Individual teacher? (What will each teacher do to ensure the Implementation of the Indicator?)
Encourage students/families attendance.
Carry out individual responsibilities as defined by grade level team.
Attend/support/work their team’s event.
