UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
2007-2008

Shirts: Navy or white button collared shirts, (polo-style) with the Fonville logo.
Dress shirt- while or navy blue
Fonville authorized T-shirt
Turtle neck and other tops used to keep warm must be white and worn under school approved uniform shirt.
Pants: Khaki or navy blue (no jeans) must be sized to fit (no baggy pants) and worn at the waist with a belt.
Skirts/Jumpers: Khaki or navy blue (must meet or extend beyond the tip of the middle finger). No jeans or stretch type material.
Shoes: Tennis shoes, penny loafers, or saddle oxfords (no sandals, clogs, slip ons, open-toe shoes or sling-backs).
Shoes must be strapped, tied, or zipped at all times.
Pants must extend over top part of shoe/sneaker at all times, not dragging.
Sweaters: Navy blue, white, or gray cardigan (button up-sweater)
Jackets: No “Raiders” jackets, no flannel, no plaids.
Jackets worn to school must be removed inside.
Hats: Hats and all head coverings must be removed in the school.
NOTE:
NOTE: Any student not in compliance with the dress code will have the chance to receive “loaner” items or to contact family for getting suitable clothing. When no replacements are available the student may be placed in the in-house suspension center (ISS/SAC) or sent home for the day.
The administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of compliance with dress code. Fonville Middle School is not responsible for lost or stolen items that are brought to the school.
Physical Education uniforms are required this school year. Uniforms will cost $20.00 and are available through the PE Department. A uniform purchased during the 2004-2005 school year can be used during 2005-2006.
GROOMING HABITS
Hair- The hair must be neat, clean and well groomed. Hair style/color must not create disruptions or distractions. No shaved hair designs are allowed. Extreme hairstyles, which include hair rollers, or long handled combs may not be worn in the hair.
Head Coverings – No type of head covering, cap, hat, bandanas or towels are to be worn or brought to school.
Facial Hair and Sideburns- Sideburns must be kept neatly trimmed at all times and must not extend below the ear. Male students may not have facial hair (no beards, mustaches, or goatees).
Tattoos – must be covered at all times while on campus.
GUIDELINES FOR DRESS-UP DAYS or Free Dress Days
Dress – any form of dress or grooming that attracts undue attention, disrupts school, or detracts from the learning process is not acceptable (discretion of the schools).
Mini-dresses, mini-skirts, Capri/crop pants, P.E. athletic apparel, leotards, and halters as an outer garment are not acceptable school dress. Blouses covering tube tops should be buttoned.
Fashions with slits should be in good taste for the school environment. Excessively loose or tight garments are not acceptable. All clothing should be appropriately fitted. Shirts should be tucked in. Pants must be worn at or above the hipbone. Suspenders will be worn on the shoulders.
All shirts must be worn so as not to expose the bare chest. Tanks tops, undershirts, or shirts without sleeves are not to be worn as outer garments. Blouses or shirts that expose bare shoulders and are lower in the back than the bottom of the armpits are not acceptable i.e. (Sundresses). The midriff must not be exposed when a student goes through the normal activities of a school day (bending, stretching, reaching, etc.). Garments with inappropriate decorations or advertisements are not acceptable. The American flag is not to be worn as an article of clothing. However, a depiction of the American flag on clothing in a respectful manner is acceptable.

2006-2007
Camisas: Blanca o azul con cuello (sin emblema o símbolo).
Blanca o azul de salir con botones y cuello
Camiseta oficial de Fonville (aprobada por la escuela).
Cuellos de tortuga u otras camisetas para el frió deberán ser blancas y ir por debajo de las camisetas aprobadas por la escuela.
Pantalones: Khaki o azul marino tienen que ser a la medida (no sueltos) y usados a la cintura con cinturón. Los pantalones deben de llegar hasta el tobillo, no cortos. No mezclilla/jean o de material pegado que se estira /stretch.
Faldas/Jumpers: Khaki o azul marino (lo largo de la falda tiene que llegar o extender al punto del dedo del medio). No mezclilla/jean o de material pegado que se estira /stretch.
Zapatos: Tenis u otros zapatos cerrados (no se permiten sandalias, chanclas, zuecos o cualquier estilo de estos zapatos).
Todos los zapatos/tenis deben tener cintas las cuales deben estar amarradas todo el tiempo; todos los zapatos/tenis deben estar cerrados o amarrados todo el tiempo.
Los pantalones deben extenderse sobre la parte superior de los zapatos/tenis y no arrastrase.
Suéteres: Azul marino, blanco, o gris (con cuello solamente).
Debajo de sudaderas se debe usar una camisa de cuello azul o blanca.
Chaquetas: No se aceptan chamarras de franela, ni chaquetas de los “Raiders”.
Mientras adentro del edificio, los estudiantes deben quitarse las chaquetas.
Sombreros: No se permite usar sombreros, gorros, o cachuchas adentro del edificio.
