Dress Code/ID Badges

Tops:   

·         Solid Polo-style or button-down, oxford styled shirts /blouses.  

- White polo-style shirt with collar                  6^th grade students

- Gray polo-style shirt with collar                    7^th grade students

- Black polo-style shirt with collar                   8^th grade students

·         Polo-style shirts and blouses must be worn tucked into pants.

·         No insignias or trademarks on shirts

·         Bare midriff, bare backs, off the shoulder, halter-tops, sheer or ventilated tops/
blouses may not be worn.

·         Flannel shirts, tank tops, jerseys and “muscle” shirts are prohibited.

·         Undershirts must be solid black, gray or white

Bottoms:

·         Pants and slacks must be solid khaki.  (No stripes, patches or writing permitted on pants or slacks).

·         Khaki pants must be belted, fastened and worn at the waist.  No sagging pants are permitted.

·         Belts must be worn and buckled as a part of the uniform. 

·         No dresses or skirts.  (Parental Documentation required for religious affiliation)

·         No shorts, skorts, tennis shorts, athletic wear (Nylon, fleece, or sweats are not allowed).

Jackets/Coats

·         Jackets should be solid black, gray or white.

·         Coats, sweaters, and sweatshirts should be solid black, gray or white.

Footwear: 

·         Shoes and tennis shoes are acceptable as footwear. Socks will be worn with shoes and tennis shoes.

·         Sandals, flip flops, slippers, house shoes or open back shoes are not to be worn.

ID Badges

·         All Fondren students must wear their ID badge at all times while on campus. (It is part of our DRESS CODE!!!) 

·         Students must wear their badge on the left side above the waist.  Picture must be clearly visible.

·         All badges are the property of Fondren Middle School and Houston ISD. Students must not modify any part of the ID badge. Any student withdrawing from Fondren will need to return their ID badge.  Failure to return a student badge will result in a $6.00 fee for a lost badge.

General Information

·         All students should be in standard mode of dress when first entering the campus. 

·         Students are not allowed to wear clothing over the uniform shirt (Jersey, tee shirts, etc.)

·         Students and parents will be informed by a letter or flyer of any changes in dress code due to special activities.

·         Students are not permitted to wear caps, bandanas, headbands, or scarves.

·         Sunglasses are not to be worn in the building.  All sunglasses must be placed in the students’ backpack.

·         All jewelry accessories should be gold, silver or school colors ONLY:  Yellow, Black, Gray or White.

·         Backpacks must be clear or mesh.

NOTE:  Every Friday is “SPIRIT DAY.”  Students may wear a school spirit shirt or a school club shirt. 

PE shirts are not to be worn as Spirit Day shirts.
