Experience: 31 years of public school teaching experience at the secondary level; Wrote and won two Title VII grants in 1993 & 2001; Developed and coordinated a Recent Arrival bilingual program (1993-present) and a Dual Language program (1997-present) at the secondary level; Writer and editor for secondary ESL and Bilingual Content Area Curriculum; Instructor/Facilitator–Greater Houston Area Writing Project w/University of Houston at Clear Lake (1991); Secondary ESL Consultant-Multilingual Dept.-Houston ISD (1984-1987); Secondary teacher in Houston ISD of English, ESL, and Spanish for Native Speakers since 1977; Mentoring secondary teachers since 1993 in the areas of English, Reading, ESL, and Bilingual Content Areas; Presenter at numerous in-services, workshops and conferences.
