My name is David Schellberg, and I am the Dolphin Cluster Social Studies teacher here, at Burbank Middle School. I was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 22, 1958 while my dad was stationed in that city while serving in the U.S. military. After his discharge, my family moved to Houston where I have lived ever since. I and my three siblings attended Windsor Village Elementary, Grissom Elementary, Dowling Middle, and Madison High Schools; all in the Houston Independent School District. After graduating from high school in 1977, I received degrees from Houston Community College and the University of Houston. Following several business ventures, I was accepted into the H.I.S.D. Alternative Certification Program, and I joined the Burbank Middle School staff in 2002.
I served four years as the Panther Cluster Social Studies teacher before moving to the Dolphin Cluster in 2006. I have been married to my wife, Margarita Cruz Schellberg since 1986 and we have one son, David Jr., who was born in 1988 and currently attends college. I look forward to many more years working with the students, faculty, and staff here, at Burbank.
