Here at Burbank Middle School we are committed to helping students who require a variety of special needs. Ms. Leonard uses a level system to slowly improve student behavior in the classroom. We focus very closely on improving academic skills so that the transition to the General Education is as smooth as possible. We use many hands on activities and Community Based Instruction. A few of the projects/CBI we did last year include an egg drop, tour of the University of Houston, a meet and greet of the fraternity and sororities, a mentorship program, a visit to a radio station and several field trips to the Museum of Natural Science. Ms. Leonard is committed to a highly supervised and academically intensive classroom to make sure that no student is left behind.
