I
was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Ohio where I graduated from the
University of Findlay in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish, ESL
and Secondary Education. During my college education I
studied in
Sevilla, Spain. I moved to Houston in 1996.
I
taught ESL
to recent arrival immigrants for ten years at Robert E. Lee High
School. During that time I was nominated ESL Teacher of The
Year
twice and went on to win West Region ESL Teacher of the Year.
My
years of experience as an educator instilled in me a deep felt passion
for student success and well-being. Currently I am enrolled in the
University of St. Thomas and will graduate with a Master's Degree in
Educational Leadership. I enjoy exploring the world, other
languages and cultures. I have extensive travel experience in
Europe, Mexico and Central America. I am Spanish/English
bilingual, but have also studied French, Arabic and Japanese.

you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost;
that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under
them."
