My name is Penelope Holmes. I was born in Mississippi but raised in Altadena, CA. I truly consider myself a Californian. The sun, ocean, mountains, and of course the Rose Bowl. GO USC! What a way to live. I honestly can say that there is no place like L.A. I’ve been a resident of Houston for 21/2 years.
In my spare time I enjoy working in my yard. My biggest challenge is to grow roses in Texas. So far I’ve managed to do okay. My hobbies include sewing, decorating, landscaping, sports, shopping and of course traveling. Put me on a plane anytime! I’ve been blessed to have travel out of the country to, Africa, Germany, Italy, Czechoslovakia and the Bahamas.
I consider myself a people person. I’ve always enjoyed working with the youth, elderly, and special needs population. I’ve been in the educational field for twenty-four years in various capacities. This is my second semester at Burbank Middle School as a Content Mastery Teacher.
I graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a BA in Home Economics. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
