I am currently the Math department Chairperson at
Burbank Middle School. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York I received
my B.A. in Modern Languages and Bilingual Education, and Minored in
Computer Information Sciences. I taught at the Bilingual School for a
year before beginning a career in accounting and taxation at Price
Waterhouse. I worked as a senior tax accountant for Morgan Stanley
Investment Banking as I pursued an MBA in taxation and accounting from
Iona College, Hagan School of Business.
In 1988 I relocated to Texas and resumed my career in education as 1st
Grade teacher at Katherine Smith Elementary in Houston Independent School
District. After five years I transferred to Roosevelt Elementary where I
served as the lead math teacher for five years. I also obtained my
certification as a Library Media Specialist I worked as a librarian for
five years before coming to Burbank Middle School.
I began teaching math at Burbank Middle School in 2003 as I continued
my education and became certified as a principal.
Teaching is my hobby and math is my passion. I love the community and
the student they send me. I inspire my students to strive for perfection
by continuously improving themselves.
