My name is Monica Buckhalter, and I am the Vanguard Reading teacher for the 6^th and 7^th grade Dolphin cluster this 2009-2010 school year.  The students of the Dolphin cluster will refine and master previously learned knowledge and skills in increasingly complex presentations, reading selections, and written compositions this school year. The students will also continue to read classic and contemporary selections and informational texts. They are expected to use their knowledge of Greek and Latin roots along with prefixes and suffixes within their reading. The students will recognize how style, tone, and mood contribute to the effect of any  text selected within our classroom. Your child will have fun in Reading this school year.  Please support them by reading with them for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 2-3 times a week. 

 READING IS FUNDAMENTAL!!!
